Each phase of the moon has its own energy, and we can intentionally work with these cyclical energies to reconnect with ourselves.
New moon (Dark Moon)
What it means scientifically:
The New Moon is the first lunar phase, occurring when both the Sun and the Moon have the same ecliptic longitude. The Moon is situated between the Sun and the Earth, therefore the moon is not visible to the naked eye.
What it means spiritually:
New beginnings. A time to pause, rest, and set intentions.
Waxing moon
What it means scientifically:
After the New Moon, the Sun and Moon's ecliptic longitude begin to pull apart, and Moon begins to be increasingly illuminated by the Sun.
What it means spiritually:
Time to get moving on your intentions set during the New Moon. Start something new, manifest, and grow.
Full moon
What it means scientifically:
The Full Moon phase occurs when the Sun and the Moon are on different sides of the Earth. In this phase, the Moon is fully illuminated by the Sun.
What it means spiritually:
Time to revisit your intentions and release what’s not serving you. Emotions can run high during this time.
Waning moon
What it means scientifically:
After the maximum phase of a Full Moon, the sunlit part of the Moon starts decreasing again, heading toward the New Moon.
What it means spiritually:
A time of reflection. Let go, express gratitude, and forgive, making room for your New Moon intentions for the next cycle.
